January 29 - The 2011 Maine Morgan Awards Banquet was a huge success with 70 members present. If you were there, check out the pictures on the Awards page. If not you weren't there, mark your calendar for next year!

January 24 - Looking forward to seeing all the Year End Award Recipients at the Maine Morgan Banquet on Saturday at the Kennebec Tavern.

January 24 - Congratulations to John Lampropoulos, Maine Morgan Horse Show Manager, who was recognized as the Herman Miles Horse Show Manager of the Year at the 2012 UPHA convention!

The second annual Dressage show will be held on April 29, 2012 at Kennebec Morgan Farm. The class list and entry form are now available. This will be a fun low key show to start off the year, whether your new to Dressage or an old pro, join us for this schooling show. The judge is Susanne Hamilton (r).

January 15 - If you haven't renewed your membership for 2012, you can do so now by completing the 2012 Membership form and sending to Jenn Hartwell.

The Board made changes to the Year End Awards programs for the 2012 competitions. Review the new rules so you know how to qualify your beautiful morgans for Maine Morgan year end awards.

January 9 - For those who won Maine Morgan Horse Club Year End Awards, the Banquet committee is requesting that you bring a photo of your horse so the attendees can see the horses who are winning! Any size photo will do and if it is in a frame that is even better. The photos will be displayed on the awards table. Contact Sue Oliver if you have questions. Looking forward to seeing you there!

December 27 -The Maine Morgan Horse Club is proud to announce that we will be partnering as a sponsor to the Maine Equine Welfare Alliance. Ten percent of the 2011 profits from the Maine Morgan Horse Show will be donated to Maine Equine Welfare Alliance (MEWA) to help care for horses in need in the state of Maine. In addition, we will donate five percent of the 2012 profits from the horse show to MEWA. If you know of a horse in need, please share the information about MEWA. December 12 - 2011 Final Year End Awards are posted. Congratulations to all the participants! The Annual Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Kennebec Tavern in Bath.

Maine Morgan Horse Club revised By Laws voted by members in November are posted. The change is to reduce the general membership meetings to once a year and hold the meeting at the same time as the Awards Banquet.

December 2 - All the Preliminary Year End Awards are now posted. Please note any discrepancies to the point secretary by December 7th.

December 1 - The Preliminary Year End Show Points are posted. Please review and notify Pam Vose with any questions by Dec. 7th.

October 30 - Western Dressage makes it first appearance at the Morgan Grand Nationals in 2011.

October 28 - Postponed due to inclement weather forecast - Trail Ride at Pineland hosted by Cabot. Contact David Peterson for details.

October 21 - You should have received your ballot for officers a By Law Change. The By Law change, is passed, would reduce the general memberships meetings to one a year. The Board recommends this change in by laws as the participation in the Spring and Fall General Membership meetings has drastically fallen to a handful of people attending. Please vote and return your ballot either at the meeting or to Deb Plengey, 159 Lyons Road, Manchester, ME 04351.

October 21 - All are welcome to the Show Committee meeting scheduled for Sunday, October 23rd at Karen Marlin's farm. Bring your ideas for the 2012 Maine Morgan Horse Show!

August 9 - Are you competing with your morgan? If so, make sure you send in your competition results to the point secretaries for shows, pleasure ride/drive, working western and dressage. You can find the links to the appropriate divisions in the navigation on the left under Year End Awards Results Forms.

July 27 - Good luck to all the Maine Morgan horses and exhibitors showing at the New England Morgan Horse show this week!

June 29 - The First Annual Maine Morgan Golf Scramble is now accepting registrations for the September 10, 2011 event, held at the Bath Country Club in Bath, Maine. This will be a fun event open to the public! Contact Sue Oliver for more information.

June 6 - Ann Anderson has replaced Tim Roesink as the Park/Pleasure Judge at the Maine Morgan Horse Show in July.

May 31 - The Maine Morgan Youth Contest held at the Maine Morgan Horse Show in July publishes the contestant letter, entry form, and horse bowl contest.

May 17 - Don't forget about the Annual Fun Show at Windsor Fairgrounds on Sunday, May 29th! Class List and other details can be found at the link above.

February 13 - The 2011 Maine Morgan Horse Show will be July 7-9, at Deerfield Fairgrounds. We look forward to the continued success of our show which also hosts the $7000 Weanling and Yearling Breeder’s Classes, expanded Carriage Division, Academy Division and Youth of the Year Contest.
