May 7 - The Maine Morgan horse club is proud to announce that Margaret Bailey of Bath, Maine, has been selected as the recipient of the 2007 van Schaik Dressage Scholarship sponsored by The American Morgan Horse Institute (AMHI). To preserve and encourage the classical methods Dr. H. L. M. van Schaik promulgated, AMHI makes an annual award of $1,000 to a Morgan individual wishing to further his or her skill, knowledge, and proficiency in classically ridden Dressage. Congratulations Margaret!

May 4 - If you missed the Kentucky Derby Fundraising Party, it’s a safe bet to say you should have been at the party. Here are some pictures from the party.

April 27 - Countdown 134^th Kentucky Derby! Wear your derby hat, have a mint julip, enjoy good company and an exciting race!

April 5 - Highover Morgans hosted a wonderful demonstration of driving, youth showmanship and clipping techniques to the general membership today. Thank you, Kay and Kass, for providing an informative day with your Morgan horses!

The list of Silent Auction Items is growing for the Kentucky Derby Fundraiser. Look for items of interest to you. As well, the deadline is fast approaching, so send in your ticket order form to Sue Oliver to reserve yours now.

March 30 - Get your reservations in for the Spring General Membership Meeting to be held, Sunday, April 5th, in Eliot, starting at Highover Morgans and ending with lunch at the Weathervane Restaurant.

March 27 - The Dressage Schooling Show at Kennebec Morgan Farm is Saturday, March 29th, and although it is sold out for rides, you can be a spectator and watch and learn!

March 22 - The Dressage Schooling Show is SOLD OUT! We have a total of 38 rides going next weekend.

March 16 - The Menu for the Kentucky Derby Fundraiser is posted.

March 8 - Maine Morgan Youth of Year Contest application posted.

March 1 - The Maine Morgan Cup is hosting a Dressage Schooling Show will be at Kennebec Morgan Farm on March 29, 2008. Class list and registration form is posted.

February 6 - Plan to join us for our first annual Kentucky Derby Fundraiser! This venue will be a fundraiser for the Maine Morgan Cup class held at the Maine Morgan Horse Show in July. We have exciting Silent Auction items and be ready to show your hat-a-tude with your best derby hat!

January 10 - Are you planning on attending the Northeast Equine Conference and Trade Show January 19th or 20th? If so, stop by and say hi to the members who will be at the Maine Morgan Booth!

January 7 - For those of us who enjoy trail riding, you need to show support for the new bill that will go through the Senate and will replace the Right to Ride. I have included a link on the News Clips page to place your vote with Washington.

At the Board of Directors meeting yesterday, the Board approved for members who renew their membership in 2008 at the special membership of Bulrush to receive a complimentary subscription to The Morgan Horse Magazine. So, renew your membership today at the Bulrush level this year and enjoy this generous benefit!

January 6 - The Maine Morgan Horse Show has moved to Deerfield, NH! The dates are July 4 - 6, 2008 and we will feature the popular Breeder and Sport Horse Cup Classes, as well as provide a new carriage division. The Show Committee is excited about this new location and look forward to seeing you all at the show!
